Day 134: Science Writing Heuristic

I’m home today, so I thought I would share a different implementation of the “Claim-Evidence-Reasoning” format for science writing. It’s called the Science Writing Heuristic and the basic format is outlined in the picture. A quick Google search will give you lots of links and research about SWH.

I also HIGHLY recommend reading Jason Buell’s recent blog post about C-E-R:

(Today’s picture comes from the book Negotiating Science: The Critical Role of Argument in Student Inquiry by Hand, et. al. I own the book, but sadly haven’t read it yet.)
